Q: Why is my computer so slow?
A: There are many reasons why a computer might be running slower than normal. For instance, many people don't realize that buy upgrading to the latest software they may actually be slowing down the overall performance of their computer. This is simply because new software is tested and optimized for newer computers.
Your computer may also be running slowly due to a virus or spyware infection. Running a good anti-spyware program, like Spybot Search & Destroy, and a complete virus scan using a product like AVG Free may cure it. However, these tests are best performed "offline" or with the computer in Safe Mode, since many viruses attempt to short-circuit any attempt to cure them. If you don't feel comfortable performing the scan yourself, why not have us take a look?
It's just $65/hour, and guaranteed to be fixed.
Q: What computer/smartphone/software should I buy?
A: We get this question a lot. And the answer is: it depends on who you are.
At Snap-Tech we believe in suiting the technology to the user, not the other way around. So we'll help you choose a solution that complements the way you work, whether it's a piece of productivity software, a new smartphone or a whole new network.

Q: Do you work on Macs?
A: We sure do. However, because we only hire technicians with experience, our Mac support is a little more expensive.
In fact, it's a whole ten bucks more an hour. Ouch.
Q: I think my hard drive died. Can you help?
A: Usually. But it depends how bad the damage is. Does it make a whining sound? A clicking noise? Can you start Windows at all or do you get a message like "PRIMARY HARD DRIVE 0 NOT FOUND"? We charge a flat $75 to assess the situation, and recovery starts at $250.
Of course, we only charge you if we get your data back. Otherwise we wouldn't be Snap-Tech, right?
Q: How does ?
A: Whenever you've got a problem, simply click on the InstantSupport icon to connect to an available technician. The technician will be able to chat with you, interactively control your desktop, perform maintenance and troubleshoot your computer while you have a cup of coffee.
Q: what do i need for ?
A: A broadband-Internet connection (cable, DSL, Fiber-Optic or T-1 line), and a Mac or PC built after 2003.
Q: what can and can't be fixed ?
A: Most problems can be fixed remotely; however, serious virus infections, difficulties getting online, or hardware problems may require an onsite call.
Q: how will I be billed for ?
A: You can choose to receive recurring invoices from Snap-Tech, or to have the charges automatically appear on a credit card.
Q: can I cancel my account anytime ?
A: Of course! If you purchased a year-long contract, you will receive a refund minus $25 for every month of service you received.
Q: does office-in-a-box include a server?
Office-in-a-Box is a suite of services from Snap-Tech which duplicate the functionality of an in-house server. In our experience, small offices invariably spend more money maintaining an in-house server than they would using the Office-in-a-Box product.
Q: does office-in-a-box require a server?
Ahh... no. Didn't you read the last question?

Sorry, no. Simply because the PC market is constantly changing, and because we believe in suiting the technology to the user, not the other way around.

Q: does office-in-a-box include a website?
At this time, Office-in-a-Box does not include a website or any web hosting. However, if you happen to be a webhost that provides best-in-class service, drop us a line.
Q: can i keep my same e-mail address?
Yes! If you own the domain name part of your e-mail address (you@thispart.com), you can keep your same e-mail address. Snap-Tech will setup your new account and help you to change your DNS records (think of it as updating your phone number in the telephone book).
Q: how much e-mail space do i get? how about backup space?
Okay, you knew there'd be a catch, right? But here's the thing: there isn't. Both the backup AND the email services include UNLIMITED STORAGE. Yep, you read that right: UNLIMITED.
